CENTRE FOR GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH:  A COMMITMENT TO QUALITY RESEARCH, STRATEGIC ANALYTICS AND OBJECTIVE OPINION

Society and Demography

Human societies are segmented population of people within or across countries that are marked by differences in culture, ethnicity, religion and traditional institutions that govern patterns of social interaction/ relationships between individuals within and across groups. On the other hand demography is the statistical study of dynamics of human populations, which is influenced by factors related to economics, political environment, biological processes, geography, and history. CGDR opines that studies of variations in demographic transitions within and across societies in terms of size, structure, birth, migration, aging, and death are extremely important from the point of view of long-term policy making as also product development, market analysis and understanding of business opportunities.
