Title/Subject:
Labour Reform

Synopsis:

The long awaited labour reforms are taking shape in India. The central government has shown unprecedented political will to simplify the Central Acts related to labour laws by doing away with many of the archaic laws and bundling the rest of the 29 Central Acts in four codes with progressive view considering the needs of both labour welfare and development. However, many commentators feel there is a need for further improvement in these bill to ensure a guaranteed return on cost of cultivation through a clause in the legislation itself. On the other hand, the Government has assured that the system of minimum support price (MSP) would remain in force in the current form, which is implemented through executive orders. The attached file lists the laws that have been amulgamated in to four codes.
